While the larger contingent of the SPU men's team raced in Salem, OR, and the varsity women took the day off to train, the remaining men and women raced in the Emerald City Invitational hosted by Seattle University at Lower Woodland Park.  The course designers managed to create a long 2K north-south loop paralleling Aurora Avenue that had rolling terrain but avoided the worst of the hills (except for the traditional downhill plunge at the start.)

The ladies raced 6K and the men followed at 8K on Saturday morning, October 3rd.  The weather cooperated and the fans enjoyed the first fall colors that make Lower Woodland Park a favorite for XC races in Seattle in October.
