Do they have small craft warnings on the Columbia?  The wind howled around our hotel all night long before the State meet.  But by the 10:30 a.m. race time for the WIAA Girls 1A Championship race, the weather was sunny and the winds were light.  Later in the day the clouds and wind returned (and snow in the passes for the trip home) but by then our BCS girls were on their way home, stopping for the traditional pizza and trip to the Dollar Tree store.

Going into the race, our girls were ranked 11th in the State, and despite illness the week before, they maintained that team place, finishing just three points ahead of Ilwaco.  These ladies helped BCS maintain its long string of years with teams at State. And as a young team, more success is expected in the Autumns to come.  Well done Vikings!
