A novel, yet less than satisfying plan, for qualifying 1A District 1 and 2 wrestlers for the Tri-District Regionals on February 13th at Bellevue Christian was implemented this season.  From the fan perspective anyway, it seems the post-season is the only proper place for the tournaments that determine State qualifiers.  District 1 and 2 coaches seem to understand this and will leave this experiment as "one and done."

A combination of dual matches between Bellevue Christian, Friday Harbor, and Nooksack Valley were held along with other matches which gave junior varsity wrestlers a shot at qualifying for Regionals.  That these teams have a few more weeks to tune up during the regular season seems odd when regional qualifiers were mostly determined today.

As in early December at BCS, the Pioneers from Nooksack Valley dominated the matches.
