On Saturday, December 15th, BCS competed in Tacoma at Mount Tahoma High School's eight-school 1st Annual Tyler Howes Memorial Team Tournament.

Bracket (A) included  Mount Tahoma (4A), Archbishop Murphy (2A),  Stadium (4A), and Tahoma (4A).  Bracket (B) included Wilson (4A),
Kennedy (3A), Lincoln (4A), and Bellevue Christian (1A).

BCS was seeded 2nd in the lower bracket of schools.  BCS defeated Lincoln 45-34 to advance from round one.  They then faced Wilson who
had defeated Kennedy 42-36.  In the second round BCS beat Wilson 48-35 to advance to the championship dual.  BCS placed 2nd by falling to the Bracket A  winners Tahoma 27-47 in the final dual.

Along with receiving the 2nd place team trophy, senior BCS wrestler  Kevin Yoo, a 2007 State Qualifier, was named the "Outstanding Wrestler" of the tournament in the coaches poll. 

Mount Tahoma High School senior Tyler Howes was a varsity wrestler and captain of the Thunderbirds baseball team in 2007. The week before his graduation, he contracted a mysterious illness and died five days later, just hours short of his graduation ceremony. 

As a wrestler, he qualified for the 4A regionals in the 285-pound class, despite weighing 210 pounds, in his first and only year he participated in the sport.  Tyler was greatly loved by his family, teammates, coaches and classmates. 

This annual tournament is held in Tyler's memory.  Bellevue Christian School was honored to participate in the inaugural Tyler Howes Memorial Team Tournament at Mount Tacoma High School on December 15, 2007.
