Bellevue Christian took nine
wrestlers to Castle Rock to compete in the "West Regionals."
This was the Region 1 Championships (Districts 1 through 4 which
comprise Western Washington). The top six wrestlers
in each of the 14 weight classes advanced to the State
Championships where they will face off with the top 10 wrestlers
from Eastern Washington. Four 'State Qualifiers' and two
alternates (7th place finishers) will represent BCS at the WIAA
Washington State Wrestling Championships at the Tacoma Dome.
Advancing to State for BCS were four
seniors. Jude Fouquier (4th at 135), Nathanael Sleight
(6th at 145), Kevin Yoo (2nd at 160), and Chris Bowser (4th at
289). Alternates were Matt Del Moro and Sean Milbank.
As a team, BCS placed 7th over all, surpassing its pre-season
goal of 8th place or higher.
