It was a crowded bus that took the Vikings south to Charles Wright Academy's elegant 6-lane track in University Place.

Last year on March 17th, Doc wrote, "Daylight saving time and blue skies made for May-like meet conditions, if you overlook the occasional stiff breeze and the increasing chill as the meet progressed."  And today, March 16th, we were again surprised by the sunshine on this only meet in Winter 2017.

Early season meets do not predict end-of-season success, but stars still shine.  On the boys side, Jared Donnel won the 1600m run and Nick Gerimino took the 300m hurdles.  Back at BCS earlier, Luke Sala jumped a 13'-0" PR for the top spot in the pole vault.  For the girls, Molly Olson won both the 100m dash and the shot put (by over eight feet!)  BCS dominated the hurdles taking 1st through 3rd in the high hurdles, led by Mara Staal, and the top four places in the 300m hurdles, led by Alexis Weedman.  Finally, Cassadey Porter won the high jump with a 4'-8" jump, breaking the tie with fewest misses.  See the meet results at Athletic.net
