The 9th annual BCS Invite was once again held at Interlake High School, a wonderful venue for this day-long, nineteen school meet.
Meet results are at Athletic.net.

A dense overcast provided a diffuse light, ideal for photography, and the expected rain held off until the 4x400m relays. Doc wonders if he can keep this up.  His new Fitbit says he walked over ten miles at the meet, and he's sore today. (As of May 1st, the wearther report says, "Scattered thunderstorms developing in the afternoon," for our next meet on Thursday, May 4th at King's.)

Our Vikings made a solid showing, but the highlight of the meet for Doc was Jared Donnel's 9:58.53 PR in the 3200m run — a thing of beauty.  Just a junior, Jared managed that victory after running another PR earlier in the meet, in the 1600m with a 4:36.9.  The 9:57.05 PR of teammate Craig Lambert, or Doc's 9:52 in 1973, or the school record of 9:46.92 set by Andrew Van Ness in 2009, all look in sight for Jared.
